Currently, I am studying UAL Extended Diploma in Music Production Level 3 and I especially enjoyed the unit 'Critical Listening' because it developed my skills to listen critically, work in a team on collaborative projects and independently. This course also helped me to be organised and consistent by filling out a weekly planner and enhanced my academic autonomy. During this course I engaged in extensive research which guide me in creating tracks and mixes, this increased my confidence in knowing that I can independently create tracks from scratched and currently learning how to play the piano in order to increase my skill set. I have learnt about the importance of time management, being organised, working collaboratively and effective communication. I acquired further skills in the industry through travelling to Jamaica every summer; this exposed me to Music in Reggae and Dancehall scene first-hand, from this I learnt that most songs are created organically and through vibes and feelings in the moment. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed how the producers manipulate sounds, used sequencing and recording techniques to achieve an end goal. Having these experience broadened my perspectives, and I began developing a home studio equipped with a key board, drum box and so on; I purchased Logic Pro X and FL Studio software and teaching myself how to use them to create computer based tracks. I am an avid music lover of all genres if it is pleasing to the ears. Initially I studied level 2 business in secondary school and repeated the extended version college, because I wanted to embark on music production and understanding the elements in music business itself. I grew up around musicians, and in a household that host multiple parties. From this my skill to listen keenly developed and I realised I tend to hear things others around me do not. Therefore, my skills include active and critical listening and software skills using logic pro x and FL studio. On my course in college, I explored all aspect of music and had the opportunity to work solo and as a team to create tracks, mixes and create audio/ sounds for games etc.
